Get to know this year’s CMA lender underwriter of the year, Ida Guilbault
Congratulations is in order! One of Bridgewater Bank’s very own, Ida Guilbault won the award for Best Lender Underwriter of the Year at the Canadian Mortgage Awards. The awards took place on May 12 at the Liberty Grand in Toronto, where hundreds of mortgage industry professionals were invited to celebrate the achievements of industry leaders from all over Canada.
The Bank celebrates a new success story to add to the books with Ida’s big win. The award recognizes outstanding expertise and service to brokers, ensuring deals are funded quickly and efficiently. It not only represents 12 months of excellence, but a long streak of dedication towards satisfying your broker needs. As an expert with 30 years in the financial industry, 13 of those spent with Bridgewater Bank, Ida is a well-respected member of the Bank’s underwriting team and regarded expert among her peers. Those of you that have worked with Ida know what we’re talking about.
On the eve of the ceremony, our team waited patiently to hear of any wins. This year, the Bank earned its position as a finalist in six categories. Social media at the ready, congratulatory text messages just waiting to be sent, our excitement was plentiful.

The celebration
After the ceremony concluded and Ida’s win was revealed, the excitement was left for the Monday to come. Little did Ida know, the Bank’s BDMs started the celebration early by decorating her desk—no celebration is complete without streamers!
Chatter of Ida’s win quickly spread through the Bank; when one of our Bank family members see success, we all do. As Ida wasn’t present at the ceremony, our executives strategically planned to hand her the award in the best way possible— surprising her personally to say thank you and congratulations. A speech and round of applause authenticated the moment, reinforcing how proud the Bank is of this achievement.
