Meet Yvonne Futter – Bridgewater Bank’s New BC Business Development Manager
Yvonne Futter is no stranger to the mortgage broker industry. You may have seen her at events, worked with her on a file or even know her personally. We are excited to have Yvonne joining the Bridgewater Bank team as the new British Columbia Business Development Manager (BDM). Yvonne comes with a ton of experience from both sides of the lending fence and wants to help you get more deals done.
Yvonne started her career owning a small financial management business and eventually added a mortgage brokers license to her accreditations – a title she still holds to this day.
I gained a lot of experience as a mortgage broker then made the switch to business development and that is where my passion lies, said Yvonne.
After a few years Yvonne wanted to sit on the other side of the fence helping brokers get their deals done.
“I gained a lot of experience as a mortgage broker then made the switch to business development and that is where my passion lies,” said Yvonne.
If the name Yvonne Futter is familiar to you, it’s because previous to joining Bridgewater Bank, Yvonne worked as a national business development manager dedicated to one of the industry’s largest brokerages.
“My previous experience has put me in a great position to take on my new BDM role here at Bridgewater Bank and I’m ready to get started,” said Yvonne.
Yvonne is experienced in alternative lending and knows that this segment of the business comes with unique challenges.
“There’s no cookie cutter deal,” she said “Every file is unique. I want to always work with the broker to help them package their deal for the best possible outcome.”
I want to always work with the broker to help them package their deal for the best possible outcome.
Yvonne has a passion for the mortgage broker industry that is evident and palpable when you meet her. She wants to educate brokers about what they can do to have their deals approved, conditioned and funded as smoothly as possible. She’s a big fan of collaboration and loves when it leads to solutions. Yvonne is always willing to discuss any deal with a broker over the phone, via email, or in person.
If there’s one piece of advice Yvonne could give brokers, it would be to try to have as much information about the deal as possible before submitting.
“There is certain information that we need in order to proceed with a deal,” she said. “If the broker and I have strong communication throughout the entire process, it makes it easier for me to ensure they have all the information they need. We know that getting all the information from the client is sometimes difficult but if we have a complete package it’s a lot easier to get things moving.”
When Yvonne isn’t hitting the pavement working with brokers, she can be found at home with her husband spending time with their three daughters and four grandchildren.
“I’m very family oriented. We love to spend time with our children and grandchildren,” Yvonne says. As well as our three-year-old Goldendoodle, Charlie Theron (Charli)! If I’m not with my family, you can find me painting, gardening or travelling somewhere with our fifth wheel!”
The bank is really looking forward to having Yvonne’s charismatic personality representing us in British Columbia. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact your local BDM today!
